Maramureš Greenways
Greenways are multifunctional trails for non-motorized users connecting communities, local initiatives, natural and cultural heritage sites,
promoting a healthy environment and lifestyles.
On 20th October 2006 MARAMUREŠ HERITAGE TRAIL, the first Greenway in Maramureš was launched. In the presence of the president of EcoLogic Association - the project implementer, the mayor of Ocna-Šugatag and in the presence of more than 100 guests, the route was officially opened for tourists. Tourists may use such a Greenway trail walking by foot, bike or by cart in summer, respectively sleigh during wintertime. Wildlife observation, nature photography, hiking and cultural experiences represent recreational activities to enrich visitors while wandering along the greenway.
